So I am currently at Wake Tech community college, but NCSU is my dream. My daddy graduated from State, it's in my blood. I love it so much. I'm getting ready to start my transfer application and I'm scared as hell. Any advice?

NC State prides itself on being a research institution, and they love accepting people who want to do undergraduate research. Whether it’s in a lab, or just publishing poems, you can do undergrad research in every subject. Also, if you truly love the school, say so and tell them why.
And don’t hesitate it telling them how you overcame something or how you “grew up” or matured. My personal statement was pretty much about the obstacles I faced and how they made me who I am today. If you can tie that in with what you want to study somehow, that’s even better.
I don’t know what college you’re applying to, but make sure your second major choice is in a different college, preferably a “back-up” that might be easier. I know if you don’t get accepted into your college of choice, they’ll send your app on to the next college and you’re reviewed all over again.

If anybody else has any advice, please write in!
